Amanda McAlister
BIOLOGICAL ENGINEER, CLINICAL HERBALIST, NUTRITIOnal counselor, EMT
Born in Arkansas and raised on the SAD (Standard American Diet), by my early 20's I was plagued with many of the physical, mental, and emotional imbalances so prevalent in our society.
I had always loved to solve puzzles, which lead me to study engineering and mathematics in college. Yet after completing a degree in Biological Engineering, I still hadn't solved the puzzle of my own well being. Convinced there was a better way to live, I spent the next 10 years in Hawaii exploring herbs and nutrition through self-study, apprenticeships, and experimentation.
In 2014, I moved to the Rocky Mountains and spent the next two years attending the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism with Lisa Ganora and Paul Bergner for a formal education in the clinical applications of herbal therapeutics, nutrition, biochemistry, pathophysiology, safety, and phytochemistry. To gain a better understanding of allopathic healing, in 2016 I also became a licensed EMT. In 2019, I continued to expand my toolkit by becoming a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher. I am consistently amazed at the miraculous transformations that occur with even the smallest of lifestyle adjustments.
I prefer to work as a teacher, empowering clients with the knowledge you need to achieve your optimal health goals. I am a firm believer that when you are given a body you are also given the mental capacity to understand how to care for it. Let me be the liaison between you and the infinite volumes of healthcare information out there. Together we will discover your healthiest you!
